PKS Dance Elite Ltd is super excited to welcomes guest teacher Ray Hogg this Saturday!
Ray received his formal training at Ryerson University Theatre School’s Dance Program. He began professional dance career joining the Danny Grossman Dance Company and CORPUS dance projects as a soloist (with whom he played Captain Krankovitch on Treehouse TV’s “4 Square”).
Ray’s professional dance career eventually lead him to musical theatre when he moved to Germany to play Plato/MacAvity in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats”. Other musical credits include “Kiss Me Kate” & “Jesus Christ Superstar” (Sunshine Festival), “Dream Girls” (MTC), “Seussical” (Theatre Aquarius), “Evita”, “Sweet Charity” & “Guys & Dolls” (Drayton Entertainment), “A Chorus Line” (Rose Theatre), “West Side Story” (Vancouver Opera), and two critically acclaimed seasons with the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival performing in “South Pacific”, “Oklahoma!” and the Gershwin tap musical, “My One and Only”.
As a Director/Choreographer, Ray’s work has been seen across Canada on the stages of the Shaw Festival (Ragtime, Come Back Little Sheba), the Stratford Festival (A Grand Night), the Betty Oliphant Theatre (Love Disease, Bassey), The St. Lawrence Centre (Death of Enkidu, The Merman of Orford) and at Rainbow Stage (Cats)
Ray’s teaching career has also lead him to teach Company and Master Classes for Danny Grossman, CORPUS, DanceTheatre David Earle, Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre, Ballet Jorgen (Junior Company), Drayton Entertainment, the Shaw Festival, the Stratford Festival, and the Toronto District School Board, Metro Movement (Toronto), and Harbor Dance (Vancouver). Ray is also a Senior Faculty member at George Brown Dance where he teaches Jazz, Modern (Graham Technique, Barre Technique), and Music Theatre Repertoire. Ray’s passion for and dedication to education has resulted in him being named Artistic Director of showcasing, and Interim Administrator (Faculty Advisor) for the Commercial Dance Studies Program. This fall Ray joins the faculty of Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts as a director/choreographer for their 4th term Cabaret. You can also drop in on one of Ray’s open classes at Metro Movement, where he teaches Theatre Jazz.
