Philomena “Penny” Hodgson

Penny is an experienced teacher, choreographer and dancer with a professional history extending over 30 years. She prides herself in meticulous instruction of technique, passing on her love of dance to all students under her care, with great success in all levels of RAD examination and competitive work. Her wealth of knowledge comes from running her own studio, dancing with the Ontario Ballet Theatre and studying under many internationally known teachers, choreographers and principal dancers.

Mrs. Hodgson is a graduate of the Canadian College of Dance at Ryerson University and was a member of the Ryerson Theatre Arts Dance faculty, teaching from year 2000 to 2007. She was a tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies and has been frequently invited to be a guest instructor and examiner at The National Ballet School Teacher Training Program.
